HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION ELECTS NEW BOARD OFFICERS AND MEMBERS
TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
KANSAS CITY, MO – At its January meeting, the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City Board of Directors elected new board officers, four new members and approved the re-election of three incumbent members.
Larry Blankinship was elected to replace Mary Lou Jaramillo as the Chair of the HCF Board of Directors. Jaramillo served a one-year term as Chair. Other newly elected officers include:
Norman Siegel, J.D., Vice Chair
Landon Rowland, Secretary
Bishop Steve Jones, Treasurer
“I am proud to follow in the footsteps of former HCF Board Chairs Dr. Harry Jonas, Gurnie Gunter and Mary Lou Jaramillo. Under their leadership, HCF has become a strong community voice for the uninsured and underserved,” said Blankinship. “I’m thankful for the blueprint they’ve developed and am honored to continue in their tradition. I look forward to working with the HCF board, staff and Community Advisory Committee as we work together to provide leadership, advocacy and resources that eliminate barriers to quality health.”
At the meeting, HCF also welcomed four new members to the board. The following individuals were selected to serve a three-year term:
Roberta Coker, former Chair of HCF’s Community Advisory Committee and retired as Director of Community Relations for the Independence School District
Dan Couch, retired, former Deputy Executive Director of Truman Medical Centers
Karen Cox, RN, PhD, FAAN, Executive Vice-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of The Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics
Sheilahn Davis-Wyatt, Chief Operating Officer/Ethics Compliance Officer at Menorah Medical Center
Current Board members Mamie Hughes, Senior Judge William Mauer and Rev. Nelson L. Thompson were also elected to serve an additional three-year term.
“Each of these individuals brings with them a wealth of knowledge, expertise and a great passion to help improve the health for all of those in need. As our community continues to face these challenging times, we look forward to their service in helping to guide HCF,” said Blankinship.
